Listed below are some of the sites that have been invaluable both from this side of the world and the other. We shall continue to add to this list and intend including links to fellow travel bloggers – the online travel blogging community in itself continues to be a valuable source of information and inspiration (as well as entertainment!).

Trans Siberian
Trans Siberian Handbook – Bryn Thomas
The Man in Seat 61 who is our hero and without whose wealth of knowledge our original plan would not have been born.
The Travel Centre are based in Melbourne but we used them to book our trip from St Petersburg to Beijing and no doubt in the current economic climate (August 2015) anyone heading over from the UK or Europe might find them particularly reasonable cost wise.
And we hope Our Trans Siberian/Trans Mongolian Railway Journeys might assist someone out there with preparing their own adventure.
Languages
Pimsleur website – Audio Language courses – we have downloaded countless courses and find them invaluable in getting a feel for a language and pronunciation, particularly with the more difficult languages such as Mandarin or Russian.
Accommodation
Booking.com – great for booking in advance and you can usually cancel a couple of days before at no charge but ALWAYS CHECK.
Agoda – better for certain parts of Asia than Booking.com
Vaccinations
South London Travel Centre – obviously only practical for UK readers.
