Home in Australia was Melbourne (St Kilda) and Paul’s family live in Adelaide. We know a few places around Victoria, visited Uluru, Dawn went to north Queensland (but did not dive there), and Paul worked in Perth (driving there and back – 4 days each way from Melbourne). So our experience of Australia is fairly limited.
Cairns, Northern Queensland
In December 2013 friends visited from the UK and I went on holiday to Queensland. I wrote about our holiday in Clifton Beach, one of the resorts north of Cairns, explaining why we chose this destination and a little bit of information about it. Click here to read more.
While were in Cairns we chose three day trips: snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, a tour around Daintree Rainforest and up to Cape Tribulation, and a visit to Kuranda using the Scenic Railway and the Skyrail. You can read about them here.
Uluru (Ayers Rock)
We visited Uluru in March 2015 and although that trip was blighted by illness as we spent a week there we were able to gain an overview and enjoy the dusty red centre. Read about it here.
